Maine Executive Search Oy begins each assignment by constructing a well-defined written search strategy that guarantees the most highly qualified candidates are considered for the position. Ilkka Nieminen
Managing Partner
Ilkka has been in Executive Search since 1988. His present day search activities focuses on Top Management with concentration in General Management and Finance Management. Ilkka was recognized as a top search consultant in Finland in a 2002 industry review.
Prior to establishing Maine Executive Search Oy, Ilkka worked as Senior Partner with Transearch Finland from 1996 to 2004. Ilkka started his Executive Search career in Jaakko Lehto Consultants 1988-1996.
Ilkka’s earlier experience includes a Export Director position with Kemira Oyj, where he was in charge of TiO2 worldwide exports from 1986 to 1988. Before that Ilkka worked as Trade Commissioner with the Embassy of Finland in Oslo, Norway from 1985 to 1986.
Ilkka started his professional career with LWP- Consortium in Riyadh, KSA, where he worked as Area Manager from 1982 to 1984.
Ilkka holds an joint MBA from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration and NYU Stern School of Business and a BBA from Florida State University (as a faculty scholar). His postgraduate education include a Diploma In International Management 17/2 from Fintra (1984-1986) and the National Defence Course #166 from National War College (2003).
Ilkka was a founding member of Association of Executive Search Firms in 1988. He is a member of the Helsinki Stock Exchange Club and a member of the American Marketing Association. He is also a board member of Osasto Törni Perinnekilta. Ilkka speaks Finnish, English, Swedish, German and basic Spanish.
